October 30, 2008 - How Green Are Your Socks?
What “Green” Means and How Today’s Eco-Trends May Affect Tomorrow’s Sales
Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 11:00am EDT
(Registration Form)

“Green” supply chains, “eco-friendly” packaging and “sustainable” fibers have been touted as everything from the latest consumer trends and valuable niche marketing opportunities to critical steps necessary to meet today’s retailer requirements and possible new federal environmental laws and regulations. But what do these terms even mean? Are “green” products really valuable to consumers? What retailer and government standards is the legwear industry likely to need to meet in the future? This month’s Footnotes Webinar will take up these questions and provide real answers. It will examine cost effective ways hosiery manufacturers and suppliers can capitalize on new green marketing opportunities and integrate environmental goals into their functional and strategic decision-making while meeting evolving government, retailer and consumer expectations and requirements. Speakers include: Don Kasten, Industrial Assessment Center (funded by the U.S. Department of Energy); Dina Dunn General Partner, Blink LLC (Agency of Record for Oeko-Tex); Nicole Green Senior Strategist, Frank About Women and Diane Ridgway-Cross, Managing Partner, Frank About Women.
